We make every decision by asking how it serves the people who come long after us. That question shapes the clothing, the company, and the community we build around it.

There is an old way of measuring a decision. Before you act, you ask who it serves. Not just today, but seven generations from now. You weigh your choices against the lives of people you will never meet.

That is the idea we built a brand around.

7GEN was shaped in Hawaiʻi, where respect for the land, the ocean, and one another is not a value to aspire to, but a responsibility to uphold.  We are not here to sell you a postcard. We are here to make pieces you actually live in, carrying values that matter as much now as they ever have.

Where we come from

Long before modern boundaries and districts, Hawaiʻi was organized through the ahupuaʻa, a system of interconnected communities stretching from the mountains to the sea. Mauka to makai.  Each community lived within its stretch of the island, taking only what it needed and replenishing what it relied upon, so that future generations could do the same. Balance was not a slogan. It was survival.

We carry that thinking forward. Care for the land. Care for the water. Care for the people next to you. Leave something better for those who come next. Everything we make starts there.

How we got here

We built our community through sport, organizing events that bring people together to celebrate culture, share experiences, and find common ground in the simplest way there is: through a love of competition.  On a court, a field, or in the water, people who might otherwise have little in common suddenly find themselves speaking the same language.   You show up, you give everything, you shake hands. You belong.

Those events needed uniforms, so we made them. What started as something people wore for a weekend became something they carried with them long after the final whistle.  That is how we arrived here, making casual pieces for everyday life, inspired by the community that started it all, and built to give back to it.

What we make

Elevated essentials inspired by life in Hawaiʻi, designed to move easily between work, weekends, and wherever the day takes you. Designs that carry where we come from without shouting about it. Nothing here is a costume. It is the kind of thing you reach for because it feels like you.

Four things hold it all together. Selflessness, because the best work is done for someone else. Community, because we are nothing without the people around us. Creativity, because honoring tradition means moving it forward, not freezing it. And authenticity, because anything less is not worth making.

We are building something bigger than a label. A way of carrying the spirit of Hawai’i with you, wherever you wake up. Made for today, with the next seven generations in mind.
